Don't Take This Too Hard But...

I'm re-posting this from my course-mate's FB status update which I thought was pretty kick-ass...

An old grandpa once said...

Whatever you give a woman, she will make it greater.
Give her sperm, she will give you a baby.
Give her a house, she will give you a home.
Give her groceries, she will give you a meal.
Give her a smile and she will give you her heart.
She multiplies and enlarges what she is given.
So if you give her crap, be ready to receive a tonne of shit!

Lol... okay, okay, enough with the overt feminism. On other things, I'm glad to hear that my sister got her birthday present alright... I ordered it from this website and it got to her in two days flat after payment. In Kota Kinabalu! They're amazingly efficient!! And CIMB Clicks is amazing too (which I never bothered to use before this)! The wonders of Internet banking... =)

I got her the one in pink...

My current problem? My youngest sister's birthday is tomorrow. Sisters! Gah. It's one after the other.

Actually, I just came back from UMT's Malam Kebudayaan Tahun Baru Cina, it's the second one I've attended since studying here... I enjoyed watching the breakdancers from Penang (HOT ABS!) and UMT's Taming Sari dance (so uniform, it was great to watch). The yoyo people from Taiwan weren't bad too. And the program director, Bernard, totally looks like Ikuta Toma (really!). I went together with Ah Bak and Fu Wei and met up with Ai Yin there. But I thought the Fa Mulan play they had last year was epic!!! The angry glares! The fierce facial hair! The clashing of paper-foil spears! The fearsome Shan Yu's bull's head belt! Ah, the good ol' days...

UPDATE: I found pics!!! But I'll upload just the one... Because I look hideous in the others...

Pic credit: Wong Kang Wei (blue tie)

My camera battery was DEAD D: when I checked before I left the house, so no pictures sadly... But if I can get any somewhere I might update but chances are low considering how busy I am this week... TWO TESTS. An assignment during the hols. And 2 presentations to prepare for after CNY. *stressed*

I'm totally breaking out here. In god-forsaken zits.

Deep breaths, Vanessa. I'm going to recuperate in my bed of roses now and let the Sandman do his job. Nightie night, folks! ^^

P/S: I received some deeply saddening news a few hours ago. All my thoughts and prayers go out to my cousins and their father for their loss...

Funniest Malaysian Names!

I laughed out loud for 10 straight minutes reading this old post at Mr. Badak's website! If you must know, I was searching for the meaning of mulau (crazy in Kadazan) because I wasn't quite sure of the meaning (I'm a poor excuse for a Kadazan), and I stumbled across this. It's not even the post itself (about an unfortunate man named Mulau bin Burit) that was the absolute funniest, it was the commenters! Teachers and government workers come across the funniest names...

Imagine being named...
Alias bin Mati
Injin A/L Bot (changed his name already...)
Penus (Oh dear.)
Labiah binti Kondong
Ignor Ingor
Blueberi anak Dewberi (This made me laugh the hardest!)

Lee Je Hoon to Belt Some Notes for Paparotti!

How cute is this piece of news? Everybody's favorite actor gone for military service, Lee Je Hoon, is acting as a gangster who wants to sing! Jang Ho (Lee Je Hoon) has a talented voice, but because of his poor family background, he became a gang member. Nevertheless, Jang Ho still likes to sing and desperately wants to become a singer. He enlists the help of Sang Jin (Han Suk Kyu) who used to be a well regarded performer in Italy, but is now a music teacher at a local high school in a small city. He's not the most passionate of teachers. Kang So Ra plays Sook Hee, a classmate who has a crush on Jang Ho.
This movie is based on the true story of Kim Ho Joong, who first appeared on Korean TV Show, Star King, on July 18, 2009. During the program, Kim Ho Joong surprised people with his vocal abilities and also made people cry because of his back ground story. He grew up as a troubled kid who joined gangs, but because of his grandmother he began to sing in earnest. Stills and the …

Gawky Poses People Do Best Forgotten

Ever seen a pose that you thought looked terrible even though the person doing it is a mega hot fiiiiiine piece of...well, you get my drift. I'm sure if I asked a guy, they would have plenty of other suggestions but here are just three that occurred to me while typing out this post.

1. The Angry Chicken Pose

E.g. Sohee from the Wonder Girls (middle girl) - BTW their new album WONDER WORLD is out! Check it out! :)

I have never seen anyone pull this off and still look attractive. (Also known as The Stomach Ache or Pelvic Thrust)

2. Woman Draped on a Car Pose

No offense to auto babe ladies everywhere, but I can never find this not tacky. It must be difficult to twist yourself in a sultry pose on a heap of metal (something I, a mere mortal, can never hope to achieve) and I'm glad that at least you're being paid for it.

3. Cutesy Asian Poses

There's a whole multitude of these but I'm pretty sure you're familiar with the like. E.g. Peace Sign (I'm totally guilty of this…
